I recently had a problem, due to a modem malfunction. The entire technical staff went above and across to solve my trouble and get me back on the internet. One person who deserves special acknowledgment. She quickly focused on the trouble, how it was caused, and a solution. As a consequence, my trouble was kept to a minimum. During my career and since my retirement, having worked with a wide variety of technicians, I can say, she is extremely adept at her job. CenturyLink should be very proud to have someone of her quotient on their team.
I take a long story but simply to cut information technology short my modem does not work I had to get another 1 from someone else to go cyberspace after information technology was down for 3 weeks. I called today and explained all of it. The person wanted to run a exam on it merely the 10 tests that have been running. I was on agree and on the telephone for over an hour. I had to claw the onetime modem back upwards. The person hung up on me. All I need is a modem and to transport this one back. What's so difficult about that? He had my number but practise y'all think he called me dorsum? NO. I tin can't stay on the telephone another hour or 2 on hold today and explain the whole mess to some other person. CENTURYLINK why can't you go information technology together? I'll have to call back another day.
I would LOVE to give a rave review almost spectacular customer service, great connection, clear advice with the customer, fast and reliable service, or quick and reliable service times merely alas the merely rave I have is the price; $50 a month could be a good deal. The post-obit has been my personal experience (or should I say nightmare?) I have been trying to get my net fixed for nigh three, yes THREE months. The service is constantly existence disrupted and goes out regularly. I accept contacted customer service online multiple times, they should have a track record of my conversations with them, at least, mile-long at this point of me trying to get my internet working, I would take one too, IF their "save transcript" push actually worked, OR if it actually sent you a copy to your email similar it States it will. They accept suggested having a tech come up out 3 (well technically iv) times, to which I did concord yep let'southward have a tech ready this. Designated days roll around the kickoff TWO times and NO ONE SHOWS UP! My tertiary date was gear up up on Mon for the following Monday. Thursday (the same calendar week I ready up the appointment) rolls around and tech shows up as my hubby is getting set to leave for piece of work. I actually get an e-mail that the tech will be here, today (the previous times I did not). In the email, they say to save my date for next Mon, in case something needed to be washed inside. Tech told my hubby there was something incorrect with the grounding wires and he would fix them, never received an electronic mail saying I no longer had an appointment adjacent Mon or any kind of follow-upwards. Come Th Evening, y'all guessed information technology, net crashes, but non completely less than 1 Mbps is all the same pumping through the line. Just enough to not do anything. And so I go online, to brand sure I still accept my engagement Monday, and they closed the ticket. And my internet is still not working! Contact them on the chat, and they tell me the primeval they tin practise is Tuesday, I took Monday off for this, my husband has taken 2 Tuesdays off for this, and they want me to await Another day? I asked the customer service rep who I could talk to in order to get this figured out, and the person stopped talking, I tried texting hello, and then the bulletin "timed out". No answers. This is the but provider for this area, I tin can merely honestly review the experience I have had, which has been mind-numbing and aggravating awful.
Where to start, I had been with CenturyLink since they took over Qwest. Qwest was really skilful past the way. I had both the internet and phone. The telephone side of things was actually pretty skillful if you have a landline telephone. The net site of things was non so adept. Every Sunday my internet speeds would dull to the point of unusable speeds, I had multiple technicians tell me there was zero they could exercise about the result. So I decided to go out CenturyLink and become elsewhere with my phone and Internet. when the new company ported the phone # information technology allowed me to brand outgoing calls but not receive calls merely as soon every bit the # was requested to exist ported, CenturyLink canceled my service making the porting process not become all the manner through. I checked with CenturyLink to make certain we owed them nothing at this time. I existence stupid waited half dozen months equally I did not have the time to phone call on the thing and since it was just a landline phone non used much anyway. Until I received a letter of the alphabet from a collections agency saying we owed CenturyLink money that they never sent u.s.a. a neb or observe for. I paid the beak of course merely the kicker is I accept to pay them once again to reconnect the service so it can be properly ported to the new Telephone visitor. Do not apply CenturyLink unless you want a sore rear end. I would give an average score of 0 if I could but their client service reps are very dainty and attempt to help every bit much as they tin. It's the visitor itself that I do not similar.
What can I say, it'due south a good internet provider that works as information technology should, it does the job well, I can sentinel Netflix on my idiot box and be using my laptop at the same time. Fast internet, no bug whatsoever. it'southward cracking for streaming Hulu, Youtube and the installation was great, the technician was very professional, the chore was well washed. I'thou very happy and satisfied with the service.
Lightning-fast speed, can stream loftier def vids, the only problem is that the router sometimes goes downwards for a few minutes, other than that, it'south brilliant, would recommend.
The initial ordering procedure was insane. Other cyberspace services I've ordered from other major providers in other states was just a couple of minutes online click click click done. This took almost an hour on the phone. Anyway, the order is complete and given an install date. The modem was arriving about the aforementioned mean solar day according to tracking info. Tech arrived and the modem was not all the same on hand. He tested the lines everything looked ok to him. Express to a 10Mbs connexion here. He left and literally iv minutes later the UPS driver pulled up and dropped off the modem. Simply my luck. Plugged up the modem and followed the directions exactly. The modem would connect simply the sign-in process kept declining. Chosen customer service the next twenty-four hour period and afterward an 60 minutes with the rep (he actually was pretty helpful and informative), he ascertained that the modem they sent the states did not lucifer what they had entered into their organization hence the failed login. He wasn't able to make changes merely said someone would be able to within a few days. A few days later the modem came to life and has worked fine so far. Nosotros've experienced no real outages other than a couple of 30-second outs just aught to complain about (other than the speed).
We take had Centurylink landline for literally decades. It was a no-brainer for us to use them for internet and landline when nosotros moved into our new dwelling. Our domicile was built in an area with their new fiber internet. They installed it on the day scheduled, at the scheduled time. The technician was corking. Had it upwardly and running quickly. Have not had any bug. Both the net and landline are cheaper than we were paying Cox for just the internet. Had a very bad experience with our previous ISP. Kept dropping calls. Hope to have Centurylink for decades to come up.
Install took about 4 hours because the tech had to resolve an upshot with registering but after that, everything works nifty. Tech was a great person also!
Great speed and reliability.
Centurylink started good with advertised speed up to 15Mbps. After vi months, speed slowed to 8 Mbps and 1 month later speed is now 2-iii Mbps.
Internet quality keeps cutting in and out, in and off. A technician came to gear up it and was outstanding. All the same, when what needed to be replaced was replaced, the WiFi worked for a twenty-four hours or two. And then the same problems that we've been having earlier resumed. Not recommended if you need reliable WiFi access.
Cheers for the professional temporary repair of the telephone line past Michael Lord (Custom Services Technician). It immediately improved my phone line. I'g waiting for the deadline to lay the line permanently in the footing. I think information technology volition exist soon. Thank you.
Ok, and so I tried to cancel...Was on hold for one hour 45 minutes. Passed off to 5 different people. I finally got to the terminate and the gentleman "pretended he couldn't hear me", rattled some speech and HUNG UP ON ME BEFORE I COULD Go A Word IN. I was canceling, considering of no telephone jack and no DSL modem. Was bent on going to Suddenlink UNTIL I talked to an absolutely new employee. She (Kayla) got me all squared abroad with gratuitous installation, upgraded mbps, modem etc. Cheers, Kayla! All-time customer service I've experienced. Most companies want yous to do all the piece of work for them, but not Kayla! Can't say enough well-nigh it! five stars!
I was extremely frustrated past the lack of advice from Wed. to Monday with no techs calling or showing up. However, finally, on Monday, Tech did telephone call me, arrived when he said he would, and was absolutely wonderful. He was professional, respectful, and patient with all my questions. His customer service was excellent!
It took united states of america years to get service, and we have no choice since Centurylink is the only provider available and we go no cell service at our dwelling. It took years considering they would non mind to us. All of our neighbors had service, only we were listed as not serviceable. We kept telling them that our burn down number is wrong and they kept telling us that nosotros were just also far away from the node. We finally flagged downwardly a tech when he was working on the neighbor's and he verified they had us being ii miles downwardly the route attached to a different pedestal. Now that nosotros have service, it's better than nothing, but not much. It disconnects at to the lowest degree once an hour, and ordinarily more. I work from home and it is a struggle since I have to wait for it to reconnect and and so log back into calls. We simply alive iii miles from town and then we aren't completely rural. Our download speed normally runs around 6Mbps and the upload virtually .6Mbps. If I accept to upload files for piece of work, I have to drive to town and apply the library. Information technology doesn't stay continued long enough to upload a file, nor is it quick plenty. Information technology will stream through our Roku just it buffers often, and of grade disconnect.
Just want to say thank you to the nicest and most helpful representative that I've always spoken to at CenturyLink (trust me, I've spoken to a lot of them). Inside 10 minutes of speaking with him, he resolved both bug I had been having trouble resolving for 3 days. Proceed upwardly the good work and thank you so very much! CenturyLink needs more employees like him and you deserve to be recognized for being smashing at your job!!
I am a user of CenturyLink Internet and their Cyberspace is the best in the manufacture. Likewise, with a cheap packet, I got a free modem/router. They offer speeds that suit your home needs from 20 Mbps to 940 Mbps.
Nosotros've been Centurylink customers for years. Service has been neat after recently upgrading but we had occasional outages on the previous slower plan (and modem). Nosotros had been on a 60mbps speed on a price for life deal merely saw that they were offering 100mbps merely for new customers at a lower cost than what I was getting. I chosen a regular service rep hoping to upgrade and they said they couldn't offer me the new customer deal. I then read a blog that recommended asking for the "Loyalty Department". I asked for them the second fourth dimension I called a unlike regular rep and they transferred while saying at that place would be "no promises". The "Loyalty Department" rep was super-prissy and told united states of america she could switch us to the new customer programme AND throw in the new modem needed at no charge since our current plan had the same setup where we owned it and didn't make monthly payments on it. It was the best phone customer service experience I've e'er had! Install occurred on the planned twenty-four hours a few days later. The tech was professional and knew what was needed (including working on lines blocks from our home and even in the neighbor's dorsum k). An hour after and we were up and running. The new Zyxel c3000z modem works great and I decided to ditch a Netgear wifi router that I had upwardly with our older Actiontec C1000A modem and just use the modem's built-in wifi. It'due south newer than our old router. I have a wifi extender that helps reach our back deck and yard. Speeds are consistently in the 90mbs though I would like faster upload speeds than the 10mbps that's offered. But overall, I am actually satisfied with Centurylink and recommend them highly.
I got this 1Gbps cobweb service in Nov 2019 in Boulder CO, it is now June 2020, and I have to say, it is a game-changer! Supremely fast. The techs I had did a very good job, accommodating at install. The price is $65 a month after ongoing $20 disbelieve no fees etc. If you tin can get this service you absolutely should! You won't regret it! We now stream everything, TV, music, YouTube, Netflix, HBO nosotros have never come close to tapping the link. The service has not been downwardly either since installation. Very reliable.
Have had CenturyLink for 7 years at my nowadays address and so far I have to say they have been the fairest and easiest to deal with in regards to service. Yes they can be expensive but so is everyone else. I want something in particular and they were the only ones that were allowed to provide me that service where I live. CenturyLink is the lesser of all the evils. I take been with every other cable and internet visitor in Central Florida over the past 35 years and then far CenturyLink has been the all-time. I do not desire my service to change in quality or price.
I accept unlimited internet (no overage bills). My internet is now ii 1/two times faster on download and 9 times faster on upload than others with a boost. I have 1 neb that is guaranteed to be the aforementioned price for life with my phone and internet bundle. The phone nosotros accept in the bundle from CenturyLink will notwithstanding work in a ability outage and is xl% cheaper than others and 911 knows immediately where I am calling from. If the power goes out with VOIP, you are done. 911 may also not be every bit effective on VOIP. But on fiber from Centurylink, it is a hard line. Also, with this bundle, I got a gratis modem/router. No rental, just outright gratis. It's mine! And the installation was gratis! All that money nosotros saved and all that extra speed on the internet is wonderful! I am winning in multiplayer games. My pings are insane! Downloads get too fast compared to others. No throttling, I don't "compete for bandwidth from neighbors". I don't "share my bandwidth with people passing by our house". The speeds are always the same, super fast. Support responds fast. I go to speak to a rep in less than 5 minutes with CenturyLink on the phone. Or I tin tweet or electronic mail or conversation. Anyhow, I've gone for the back up and it's been great. Install was 30 minutes. The rep was awesome. Also should mention that I put a poll, 84% voted CenturyLink as good. Many people posting the same pain I had with our previous ISP and how much they dearest CenturyLink. That said, I can't believe all these negative reviews.
My DSL low-cal on my modem went out on 3/16/20. I called CenturyLink Customer Support Service Department for help on iii/17/xx. She troubleshoots my computer on her end and likewise equally on my end. The process took an 60 minutes to resolve. Throughout the unabridged process, she remained calm, respectful, and professional. Client support was extremely talented, gentle, and humble human beingness. My estimator is working cracking now! Cheers so much for your excellent assistance. I enjoyed your service. I promise that I will ever encounter you whenever I call. Keep upwardly the adept work.
Best they tin can become me is 7mb download and they have no intention of improving it. Tough to work from home at that speed. Feels similar 1980 and not in a good way.
I run a business. I provide wireless connections and the utilize of on-site terminals to clients and employees. I've no control over what they do while online nor do I care. Occasionally, someone does something that apparently violates a copyright. CenturyLink doesn't contact me or warn me, they just shut me downward. The last one in the midst of an of import transaction, took a half hour to correct, and toll me thousands. This was the last time. In spite of the otherwise magnificent service, I've got to move on to another provider.
Great customer service, technicians are professional person and on time. However, I pay for 40mbs and they throttle it down to about 22mbs from the box to my devices. You might want to go a WiFi repeater so they tin can't throttle your WiFi. All in all, decent.
They are very loyal to their customers. I never had much of a problem with them, not ane we couldn't resolve. I transferred my phone and Internet and everything was even so the same. And the prices are off-white. xviii years with them, we sympathise each other and so until i accept any bug with them, I am loving Centurylink.
I called to have internet service established on December 6th and was told that everything would be turned on past 5:00 pm. I already had all equipment necessary so a technician coming out would not exist necessary. 5:00 came and went, so I called to follow up. I was then told that a technician would need to come up out and that the earliest available engagement was Dec 11. This is a huge inconvenience and CenturyLink's customer service department did nil to make things right. They're right up there with Comcast in hiring the near disrespectful and ignorant people.
Nosotros are a small business organisation starting out north of Greeley, CO and we had our installation done today. I can't speak for future experience, only wanted to annotation that the technician, Tony, was excellent. If all components of CenturyLink are of the aforementioned caliber every bit his service, we'll have no complaints. Thanks, Tony!
Horrible internet service, cannot scout Netflix and be on your tablet at the same time.
I called with a problem, they had a service tech here the next morning time. Tim was amazing, showed upward on fourth dimension, texted me to say he was on his way, texted me to say he was here. Stock-still everything perfectly and cleaned up. Only a wonderful experience!! Seems that Centurylink is really trying to turn their by bad service effectually! I'g very happy and certainly will laissez passer on the good word!!!
Our internet was so irksome. After months of complaints they made us but a new modern that should help. Information technology didn't. We finally switched to another provider and they wont cancel my service. I take called 3 times and each time they promise information technology is washed to find out 3 days later it wasn't. And then iterating and frustrating.
Far also many outages, one lasted 5 days. (Net) Chosen yesterday, callers other than immediate surface area got busy bespeak when calling, fixed during night. Today tin't call out other than immediate surface area.wife on phone now for over half hour. Very poor situation.
We switched to CenturyLink and could not be happier. It is so much faster, has never cut out and had the all-time installation client service. The toll is besides great.
Dandy appreciation to the tech who was incredibly personable & informative while assisting us connect our service today. He was very diligent & professional with his trouble solving, having to accost unique obstacles in our residence every bit well as our exterior property. CenturyLink is very fortunate to accept such a positive & capable representative. Thank you again!
Refuse to upgrade equipment in my area and anytime I mutter to them my internet but happens to "stop working" the side by side 24-hour interval. $45/1000 for 3mbps downwardly and 0.5 upwardly. Accented scam and would non recommend to anyone. Only reason they go along customers is because of the monopoly they hold over small towns.
Very slow, always cutting off when watching movies and whe you phone call to mutter information technology'due south ever something wrong on my end when they cant explicate the reason for the slow response and disconnection issues. Where I live there is little to no better options for internet so I am stuck living in a earth of dinasour internet.
At first I was happy with 2 MBPS every bit it was usable and was only $25 per month, then they raised me to $35 per month even though I was on the "good for life" never going to raise it price??? I was and so dropped to i.5 MBPS speed. Then they raised my monthly price to $45 per month, and cut my net speed down to 768K which is nigh unusable to me. I cannot sentinel Youtube every bit it cuts out, loads slow, and is a blurry paradigm and that is really hard on the eyes. They added so many people to my line in front end of me that I now go shit speed- never really had annihilation fast!!! $25 was all this is really worth to me. I tried Hughsnet and they were slower than this - What a fucking joke! All they have to practice is decide to boost the betoken. Criminal monopoly BS......
I had scheduled to have my phone number and internet transferred to Century Link. When we discovered how slow the internet speed was, I called to cancel the social club and received a cancellation confirmation. Their technician still showed upward and transported the numbers. I chosen to articulate up the mess and was told that they didn't bear witness a cancellation, and worst yet, my cancellation lawmaking was invalid. Since the number had already by transported, I so had to look for the number to be transported back. During that fourth dimension the telephone line went dead and was told that a technician could be out in 2-3 business days, when I explained information technology was a business line and really needed to be up asap, the person on the phone causally said he could put an urgent status on the lodge but couldn't say if it would result in any faster service. When the numbers finally did send dorsum, I attempted to call to cancel my nightmare run across with Century Link, but to be told there was nonetheless an outstanding society and a cancellation could not be completed. I chosen dorsum over the side by side 3 days only to be told various other reasons that the business relationship could non be cancelled. Finally over 2 weeks of the nightmare, I was able to cancel, not earlier being told that at that place was an early termination fee for cancelling because I had had the service in identify for two weeks. Unbelievable!! Early termination fee of $400 is well worth the cost of ending a bad human relationship. I suppose I should be happy they didn't lose my number. It takes a off-white amount to irritate me the way Century Link was able to, and so my suggest would exist to stay away.
So very very bad, cant even type at the speed I need to considering letters wont ping.... have to press them 3-10 times 55$ a month for this is robbery at its finest... they should get sued big fourth dimension.and seeing them on twitter tweeting about how great they are is PATHETIC they need to become sued for everything they accept asap
I've had the same max speed (10mbps) at my house for over a decade at present and the toll has only gone up and we barely fifty-fifty get that speed. While the rest of the world advances in technology CenturyLink remains in areas where they have no competition and thus accept no reason to improve, taking reward of people who take no other options. They keep maxim they are improving their lines simply my family and I nonetheless tin can't stream a movie in Hard disk drive, have extremely poor latency in games (300-900ms), and load websites as if we were still using dial up. The number one affair I am looking forward to when I move is getting away from CenturyLink. Hands downwardly.
I was charged for a pay per view that I did not order, and then I chosen client service ( took forever to get to a person to talk to...finally talk to someone and they said they would refund pay per view fee. Then the telephone call went on hold and after some time I was put through to someone else and had to tell them the problem, simply this time she said they would not refund fifty-fifty tough I did not gild. I take had other troubles with centurylink earlier, should of known not to get it once again! I say to anyone thinking well-nigh this service to not buy it.
Due to serving on agile duty, over the period of my life, I've lived in five states. My current identify of resident simply offering DSL. During the last one and half years, it has been a complete disaster with Centurylink Broadband. Service is unreliable, and counting today, I had four outages to occur during this time, none was conditions related, all outages has been equipment or cable bug. Once concluding summertime, it took iv days for them to repair the effect. Every bit mentioned, since I accept been here i-1/two years, I noticed a stretch of highway were Centurylink telephone cables are laying on top of the ground, can you believe that? i-1/ii years... Every fourth dimension DOT does roadside piece of work, both the telephone line and DSL goes out, hum, I wonder why?? Centurylink manifestly doesn't intendance for their customers, just taking their money. There is a monopoly in this area, one provider, Centurylink.. Accented WORST company I have always dealt with.
CenturyLink'due south Concern Solution with VPN and Internet are the all-time in the industry.
Been waiting for CenturyLink'due south fiber optics in my area for over 5 years and the fastest speed they offer me is 20Mbps. Painfully tedious only reliable I guess.
I struggle only because this company is caring and understanding, they accept worked with me a lot! Everyone I've ever talk to is very kind to me, our Internet is e'er working and I couldn't be happier. This visitor has fabricated a lifelong client with me.
I spoke to them via phone to begin internet services with CenturyLink. Tech was polite, friendly and very helpful. He was highly attentive and had a dandy mental attitude. He made me aware of available discounts but was not pushy with the auction. He asked questions to determine the best plan for me and waived my installation fee for purchasing the modem. He explained the plan and nib clearly and accurately. He really was a delight to work with and the experience made me fifty-fifty happier I made the decision to switch! Thank you and keep up the great work!
CenturyLink is a good ISP, if you live a mile away from their main box then y'all'll become 20Mbps, but if you live more then a mile then you lot won't become fast speeds, and they do have good customer service, skillful value and skilful modems.
CenturyLink gives us one price and sticks with it. Nosotros have yet to experience a problem with our net connectedness. Oasis't needed to utilise Customer Service beyond installation so I tin't give it a rating, but we're super happy that we finally got to switch to CenturyLink!
CenturyLink service is amazing and tech spent actress fourth dimension making sure my disabled Mom in a nursing home could telephone call her family! Awesome service! Highly recommended!
I contacted Century Link and I accept smashing service. I don't accept unexpected over the information limits anymore and the aforementioned price every month. I'm very happy with CenturyLink. I'll never go to whatever other service, I want to go on CenturyLink for life. Thanks for your honest service.
I have 40Mbps service in Benson and I love it. Always consistent speeds and very practiced for first-person shooters. Very depression latency and great speeds.
I switched to CenturyLink and had no issues and I'm using information technology for the Xbox One to play online. The service I got from CenturyLink was far greater than my previous ISP.
$45 a month gets me vii Mbps download on a perfect day. Usually 3. Ofttimes 1. Upload is <i. No other provider is available. No upgrade plans. They claim they have a 20 Mbps plan simply neglect to requite it to anyone.
I live in a rural area with a "guaranteed" speed of 10Mbps, actual observed is closer to .9-1 Mbps. The highest I take ever seen was 1.ane Mbps. This makes information technology impossible to do more 1 task involving internet service at one time - you can Netflix, merely whatsoever social media or internet admission from your phone slows to a crawl. I could handle the irksome internet, just non faux advertizement. I also canceled a "plan" I was on for landline and internet, for $95, which I was told was a ameliorate deal than only internet. (I've had this plan for about two years) I canceled but to get internet merely today, and my bill dropped to $36 - and then much for a ameliorate price with the bundle. During the cancellation call, I had to refuse offers to upgrade and bundle 8 times from two unlike reps and had to be forceful, to get them to end offering.
The highest speed available in my expanse is 12 Mbps, which is what I pay for. However, I usually just get around eight Mbps and my cyberspace constantly quits working. I pay for the extra coverage, protection on all the lines, to include the lines in my domicile. Although CenturyLink has sent several techs out to my abode, assuring me that nothing is wrong, no change or increased reliability has taken identify. I would switch to a unlike provider, however, other providers are not available. The best part about the not so amazing internet that I pay for, is the abiding decrease in speeds at dark. After most eight pm I can forget well-nigh trying to use my cyberspace altogether, as the speed gets so slow that I tin can't get most browsers to open. Some might think that something is wrong with my calculator, so I went down and purchased a new Omen organisation with a 1G internet connection. No change, the internet on this computer is the aforementioned as all the rest.
speedof.me shows 34Mbps and every single Mbps promised at 10 Mbps plan. One router up high in the eye of the house provides this service to 4 pcs (wireless) with all of it sporting ASUS 4x4 802.11AC Wireless-AC3100 PCIe Adapter (PCE-AC88). I was sure wireless wouldn't work, every bit well equally cat5 but I tried both and were both averaging the same latency and DL/UL speeds. Unreal! Not a stutter in any game or flick. I'm genuinely impressed!
Nosotros have the 40Mbps service and when it's not buffering, it's corking. Unfortunately it buffers a lot! I've tried turning off WIFI on devices not being used and reducing Television receiver resolution to better it, but it appears to be on their end. Cablevision is looking better fifty-fifty at the increased price.
If you're looking for reliable internet for an affordable toll, CenturyLink is the place to be. $45/mo for lxxx Mbps down and 10 Mbps upwards. Thought about going with other Fiber services, but they wanted lx days for construction to run fiber from my alley into my home, no thank you lot! Ordered CenturyLink service, and the next day there was a tech in my home doing the install, and past noon I had reliable internet that has never skipped a crush. Cannot recommend CenturyLink enough, especially if you don't want to pay the ridiculous price for coax.
The tech did a great job trying to notice me adept deals to stay with CenturyLink. I was already committed to a 12-calendar month contract for the other service so I was not in a position to have reward of the offered deals. I will call them back in a year. I consistently got the internet speed I paid for but the price per Mb was loftier for today'due south standards. Inside the by six months, I have had to reset the modem nigh daily, generally because CenturyLink DNS would quit responding to requests (traceroute shows the network is still connected, dig shows no DNS response). In all fairness, that could be a local event. Phone service was groovy, but you get a lot of scam calls on a landline.
But I have to say, both times I needed assist, the tech was amazing and spent hours with me helping. Tech has been most patient till information technology gets resolved. Was very impressed.
We used to have reliability issues with CenturyLink, just after fixing some electrical issues (a bad DIY task from the previous owner of our old house) that I believe was intermittently causing brief power interruptions or surges to the modem, that was mostly resolved. Since and then, we just had one other problem, where we had our speed slow downwardly to 1Mbps (supposed to exist viii). I called support on Friday evening (9 pm) and they had a tech out Saturday morn earlier 10 am and fixed us upwardly apace. They replaced some cables and we have been running at total speed since then, with no more than unreliability. The tech support was very patient and helpful, both on phone support and the technician sent to our home.
Poor client service but the net is good for what I use it for at the moment. In a few months, I'll exist needing broadband/cobweb optic internet hoping it volition be an pick for me soon.
The bill is too high for internet simply, I accept no phone or TV. Customer service is practiced.
The phone sales reps are terrible! Always try to become a card from a local tech since they tend to know more than and tin can be more honest with as to the service you can get at your residence. Overall though I accept only had 2 outages in 6months and have gigabit GPON. Nevertheless their peering with Youtube is terrible!
Where I live in Washington, Utah the speed of DSL is 12mbps downstream. Considering of our distance from the C.O. or the closest node (fiber to copper wire), This is probably the best speed I volition go - unless the telephone network is updated. I have not had any problems with customer service and I have simply had one or two outages. I just received a $1.00 increment in my modem rental, simply I have been planning to buy my ain anyhow. All in all, it works ok.
Mixed results: I've had CenturyLink for 20+ years. Attempting to go out them because they accuse $140 for simple twenty/2 MB service + basic phone. Can't get anything faster without going to fiber optic to the melody of $1,000 per month. So goodbye landline. Overall rating on a five point scale: Toll: Zero. Reliability: 5. Value: 1.8 Technicians: 6 on a five point scale, they've been awesome. Sales guys: two Empathy from corporate: 0.ane
I have 25 Mbps VDSL and tin can stream 4K videos and be on my iPad and also stream music at the same fourth dimension without any issues. VDSL and DSL is all based on footage from the telephone switch or center office. The Closer the faster speeds.
I accept never had any issues with this service, no down time, no loss of service ever. Since I really do not accept a requirement for loftier speed I have ane of the lowest speeds by request and information technology works very well fifty-fifty on those days where I need to work from home.
So far so skilful! Just installed a few minutes ago, tech was very knowledgeable and quick!
No issues with the cyberspace. But it is really expensive unless they give you lot one of their deals. But those typically are only for a year.
Peachy for somewhere in the middle of forest.
1. Service was splendid, even so, after merely vi-months the modem went bad. I had a difficult time convincing them that it was the problem, merely after I did they replaced it immediately. 2. Their automated phone service lets you lot mind to a lot of elevator music while waiting your turn, but somewhen, you get answers. 3. The internet and wifi are wonderful!
Skillful internet provider. We accept their DSL service and love it! Would recommend!
Solid service and speed at a fair price. The client memory department will lower price and increase speed to go along me as a client.
Had a great experience with CenturyLink. Had to abolish services due to moving out of service expanse. Definitely recommend this visitor and service staff. Go with CenturyLink.
Swell service with very proficient client service, and always fix to piece of work with any issue you have, just need to phone call.
It is the best internet I have had and I recommend it to everybody. Unfortunately we are hoping to motion and their hub is full so I will take to change providers. I am not looking forward to that I nearly don't desire to move.
I've got no complaints about CenturyLink. It's a stable system and I never have outages. I'grand paying more than I would similar though - $60.
The speeds are tedious but its useful for the average personal Internet apply.
I have had nothing but nifty client service experience. My only complaint is a very low upload speed, simply I would rather endure through poor upload speeds than go with others.
12mbps is the fastest y'all tin can become in a town of 10,000 people.
CenturyLink is an alright company if you don't plan on heavy wireless usage. I have two consoles in my firm and it will lag if we are both on at the same time. I have their fastest cyberspace that they provide. if you are a single internet user their services should suffice.
I accept a house phone with unlimited long distance and loftier-speed internet for under $100 a calendar month. Pretty happy with the service and no billing issues similar I take had with other providers always adding services and upgrades without me even requesting them.
I have no complaints with CenturyLink and truly appreciate their great client service. Their service is exceptional; great speed and reliability.
Reliable then far, but don't count on bodily gigabit speeds for anything else than when testing on speedtest.net! Actual rates are effectually 250Mbps (both directions), just that's still faster than what others currently offering. Expensive, but if you need something faster than cable it may be worth it.
CenturyLink has been fine for me for 8 years now. Expensive, every bit my neck of the woods is largely a convict audition. I could have satellite cyberspace, I estimate, merely frequent deluges would interfere with that. It's alarmingly Third World in my neighborhood so it'south squeamish that the net works reliably.
My service has been stable the by two months. It was not this Summertime. CenturyLink is seriously over-subscribed in the Parker Colorado area, and has no plans they are willing to share virtually improving their bandwidth. Their download speeds are ok, but their upload is inadequate for spider web server use. They recommend using their Cloud (Savvis) rather than an internal spider web server, and aren't very skilful about supporting video uploads for security.
Maximum speed is 10Mbps. The service rarely fails and the response to outages is adequately prompt. I'd exist much happier at 25Mbps (to my heed still a slow charge per unit but 10 is glacial.)
As a whole, CenturyLink was decent for internet. I only used their internet service and originally signed up for the 40 Mbps service. However, due to the follies of DSL and the distance of the house from the DSLAM, I just e'er striking a max of 20 Mbps. I never had any interruption of service and other than the hassles I had to go through the first few days to accept them diagnose what was wrong and why I had no service later on they turned information technology on, I had no major issues. If you are concerned about your total speed y'all might want to have them check to run across how far abroad y'all are from the DSLAM and what your actual speed will be.
We have been very happy with CenturyLink internet. It is slow, simply we besides have the 7Mbps plan, which we knew would be deadening. It is cheaper than any other Cyberspace provider.
We are very happy with our CenturyLink package. Upgraded to faster internet, still trying to figure some things out about it , merely the kids are happier.
Good net admission when it works. Takes too long to take issues addressed and resolved when service is out.
Service is ok, considering it'south the cheapest in the expanse for the speed I want.
I have used this service for several years and beloved the speed and connection. Great Service!
At $85/month for internet and phone, the toll is high but the customer service is meridian notch. The internet service is pretty solid just slow, 6000Mbps to 9000Mbps down depending on electric current line condition which varies from week to week. They are much amend than the other major competitor in this coverage area, other Isp users slow to punch up speeds in the evening, I know other ISP users in other areas do improve. I ordinarily have an outage once or twice a year that usually gets fixed within 24 hours.
